Completing the MLIS program at San José State University has been a rewarding and transformative experience. It allowed me to connect my background in art and collections management with new knowledge in digital asset organization, metadata, and information access. The program has deepened my understanding of how thoughtful digital practices can help cultural institutions share their collections more widely, safely, and meaningfully. The internal nudging to begin this program came from a personal inventory that sought to discover and uncover past career satisfaction and future career joy.
My strengths lie in creative problem-solving, organization, and attention to detail. As I move forward in the field of digital asset management and digital curation, I will carry the experience, knowledge, and competencies I’ve gained into my professional practice. I’m committed to supporting accessible, inclusive, and sustainable approaches to managing and preserving digital collections, and to continuing my growth as an information practitioner through continual engagement in professional networking and educational opportunities.
This e-Portfolio represents both my journey through the MLIS program and the foundation for the career I am excited to continue building.
